birdie developments…
February 12th, 2007So it’’s has been nearly 2 months now. We have had to purchase a HUGE cage to give the 2 birds some space to move in and to become familiar with each other. CJ is looking more and more like an old hen next to Finn, who appears to be determined to annoy and follow her at every instance.
And it’s another BIRD or two!!
November 15th, 2006Follow the restored aircraft to Sydney here, ‘Boeing 707 - VH-XBA.
Bird No.2 was found today. Giving CJ (named after Claudia Jean Cregg) a room-mate. Bird No.2 is a male of just six weeks. He, like CJ, is from a lutino breed which we understand will slowly turn to a pearl coloured Cockatiel (Quarrian in the Australian vernacular). No.2 has been named ”Finn” this time named after a legendary warrior of Irish mythology, Fionn mac Cumhail. Finn is not as tame as CJ. Given his youthful age, we hope some TLC, hand feeding and CJ’’s assistance will entice him to be tame and friendly like CJ.
Sydney City live streaming webcam
November 15th, 2006This is the city skyline via a live streaming cam. Since the windows face west however it can get very bright during the afternoon. Directly in front is Cook and Phillip Park Aquatic Centre underneath that cement roof is a 50 meter swimming pool, wave pool, and hydrotherapy pool. Across from that is Sydney’’s favourite park, Hyde Park. Most of the trees were planted around 80 years ago after the railway was put in.

November 15th, 2006This is the live streaming traffic cam over William St. See Webcam.
When the Cross City Tunnel was completed earlier this year, there was hope the it would reduce the amount of traffic flowing through the city by pushing it underground. Sadly the toll imposed proved to be too high for most motorists and there is constant congestion during peak periods.\r\n\r\nclick here for the RTA traffic cameras http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/trafficreports/index.html?hlid=12

Coldplay and Cockatiels
June 28th, 2006Monday night was Coldplay night at the Entertainment Centre, a concert I have been waiting to attend for 3 years and it didn”t disappoint. We over indulged on beer and woke up feeling rather poorly on Tuesday (yes I know, rather silly having a concert on a Monday). One thing we learnt on this night during our pre concert drinks, the moody bird CJ doesn”t like us when we consume more than 2 alcoholic drinks. She is quite tame and normally sits on a finger or shoulder. If however, we have had more than 2 drinks, instead of stepping on our finger, she bites it!! Possibly owned by a devout Christian previously?
